We are a newer church who is seeking to love God, love people, and live it out. We meet at 114 6th St. North in downtown La Crosse. Our Sunday service is from 10:00-11:30.
Here's what you can expect every week:
Our dress and environment is casual. On Sundays, we have free coffee before the service, a time to meet new people and catch up with old friends. The worship time features music and songs that reflect our personal relationship with Jesus, sort of like "singing prayers." Our teaching connects the truth of the bible to everyday life. It is presented in a challenging, relevant way, so we can apply it in our everyday lives at home, work, or school.
We see church as a much more thing that filling the "church slot" on our list of obligations. It's about meeting a personal God who can be with you in the toughest situations you face and can bring his light and healing into your life. We end our service with a time to respond and receive prayer. We believe that God can heal and change things in our lives when we simply come to him. Every person on our prayer team is trained to gently and respectfully pray for you and no one will pressure you to receive prayer. If you don't want prayer, you can just stay at your seat.
What about kids?
Children are an important part of our church, and we value their needs, gifts, and personalities as much as we do those of adults. Our children's classes combine content and creativity to teach your kids the same message that the adults are learning, but in a language and a style with which they can easily connect. We value the safety and security of each child, so upon checking your children into kids church, you will receive a pager so we can get in contact with you quickly if that need arises.
Beyond Sunday
Building friendships and becoming a family is vital to our lives as followers of Jesus. There are so many easy opportunities to get connected with others at Great River Vineyard and build lasting, authentic relationships. Mid-week lifegroups, parties, and other special events are all great ways to make friends and grow closer to God.
The church should be a place where people can come and investigate Christianity; a place where people aren't put on the spot; where they can enter in as they feel comfortable, and are able to ask questions. So whether you consider yourself to be a Jesus follower or someone who's just interested in exploring what that means, we will do our best to make you feel at home!
